The Charlotte Clock

The Charlotte Clock has been specifically designed to give children all the visual clues they will need to support their learning, to provide a more structured and simplified method of teaching and learning to tell the time.

This is a multi-sensory approach to the first years of mathematics instruction.
The aims of the Structural Arithmetic Teaching Programme is to develop cognitive thinking and an appreciation for the exactness and clarity of mathematics.

From age 3, children will develop a number sense and continue in progressive steps to learning the addition and subtraction facts to 10 working with Book I Experimenting with Numbers.

Teaching with Stern Kit B and book 3 takes pupils beyond 10, recognising teen numbers and number bonds to 20, 2-place numbers, transferring basic facts to higher decades. Books 4 and 5 cover multiplication, division and teaching to the end of primary (age 11).

The Teaching Manuals are broad in their delivery and are fully supported by graphics/photographs, and language to aid parents and practitioners.

Books 2 and 3 have an accompanying Pupils Workbook and Books 4 and 5 have an accompanying Teachers Photocopiable Resource book.
